The HeartBeat Project
Our Directors Ngonidzashe Edward and Wesley Maraire have created a programme to inspire the youth of Zimbabwe to live a more positive life, by developing a positive attitude to others around them as well as their own life. Our AfroFit team has been part of this project by performing at various High Schools to spark that positivity we constantly strive for.
From July 2015, Ngoni and Wesley embarked on a series of workshops in schools that they divided into three parts; with the first part containing a message of inspiration that encouraged each of the students not to waste a single heartbeat with negativity. The second part sees ProBeatz, the leading beat boxing artist in Zimbabwe tell his touching story of how his artistry saved his life and how he now expresses this through each heart beat. The workshop ended with an AfroFit workout, where the students were encouraged to exercise as part of living positively and taking better care of their hearts and wellbeing.
The workshop has been conducted at St Ignatius College, Visitation Makumbe and St Johns Emerald Hill among other high schools in 2015.
